Campfire
One of my favorite light sources for night photography: The campfire. Not only can it help light up the foreground in a picture (like the bike and trees in one of my favorite photos: A night under the stars), but it also keeps the photographer warm in – sometimes – below freezing temperatures. At the very least, there is something to tinker with while waiting for the camera's shutter to close.
